In order to provide you with the best service possible, I, Mami Sayo, need to hold the contact details and records of our sessions. This privacy notice explains what I will do with the personal information from an initial point of contact through to after a series of sessions has ended. I am committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, and you can be confident that your personal information will be kept safe and secure and will only be used for the purpose it was provided.

I adhere to current data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU/2016/679) (the GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.

My lawful basis for holding and using the personal information
The GDPR states that it is my obligation to have a lawful basis for processing your personal data. Different lawful bases depend on the stage at which we process your data. If you have had any session and service with me and it has now ended, we will use legitimate interest as our lawful basis for holding and using your personal information. If you are currently having sessions or are in contact with me to consider receiving our service,

I will process your personal data where necessary for our contract's performance. The GDPR also ensures that I look after any sensitive personal information you may disclose to us appropriately. This type of information is called ‘special category personal information’. The lawful basis for us processing any special categories of personal information is for providing health treatment (in this case, therapy sessions).

How I use your information
I will never use your personal data for any purposes other than administering the service I provide to you, i.e., to arrange, cancel, and rearrange appointments. In line with guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office, I will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary.

What is said in our sessions will be kept strictly confidential. We might keep brief notes during the sessions solely to assist our work together. They will be kept after a series of sessions has ended so that we can support you if you wish to restart the session again in the future. The notes do not include any personal details that could be used to identify you, and they are stored securely, separately from your personal details.

Third-party recipients of personal data
I share a limited amount of personal data with third parties to provide services to you and fulfil legal obligations regarding tax and accounting purposes. Details about what is discussed in your appointments will remain confidential and can only be shared if you give me your written consent to do so.
